We started #EthicalHour as a way to bring together ethical businesses, projects, bloggers and social enterprises to maximise our positive impact.
As ethical business owners it’s important to us that our work and lifestyle doesn’t have a negative impact on people, the planet or animals, and that our actions have a positive impact wherever possible.
We’re committed to finding new and innovative ways to make a real difference. Below you can read some of the ways we’re using business to be a force for good:

We are proud to #StandForTrees!
We’re proud to run a paperless office, and we’ve recently committed to offsetting our carbon footprint by purchasing a Stand For Trees certificate, which protects the Gola rainforest in Sierra Leone.
Stand For Trees saves trees, helps forest communities and protects the rights of forest animals to live in their homes.
We chose to support the Gola project, which is the largest area of rainforest in Sierra Leone. It protects 60 globally threatened species and promotes sustainable development and livelihood activities for 122 forest edge communities (around 24,000 people) in the world’s 8th poorest country. Our Founder Sian lived and volunteered in Sierra Leone in 2011, so this project also held personal significance too.

We help businesses grow…all around the world
We provide training, advice and support to help ethically-focused businesses and organisations grow.
We offer as much of this support as possible for free to make sure we reach and help as many people as we can. We do charge for some of our premium courses and resources, as well as sponsorship and advertising opportunities, and this allows us to invest in growing the #EthicalHour network even further.
We’re also proud to support Lend With Care – a microfinance initiative which connects entrepreneurs in developing countries with people ready to invest in their businesses and help them grow.
Whether it’s opening a market stall, or perhaps a small tailoring business, or diversifying the crops they grow, people across the developing world are bursting with business ideas – all they need is a helping hand to get started.
We invest some of our profits into a Lend With Care fund, which we then use to invest in entrepreneurs who are looking for financial support. Once they repay the loan, we choose another entrepreneur to invest in, and the process starts again!
So when you grow your business with #EthicalHour – you empower someone else to grow theirs too. Find out who we’ve helped so far.
